There is not one price that fits all when dealing with web promotion. I work primarily on gaining one-way backward links that point to the client’s site as this is what helps it to obtain a higher search engine ranking. I gain these links in a variety of ways including the ever popular article marketing.

As a rule of thumb I ask people to confirm which key phrases they are trying to rank well for, I then see how competitive those phrases are, for example "web design" is a very competitive term and it is therefore harder to gain a good ranking for this search term, I then charge an amount per key phrase. The person then chooses how many key phrases they want me to promote, on average it works out to be around £200 per month for me to promote five of these phrases.

I also make suggestions as to how to make the client’s website more "search engine friendly", this normally includes making subtle changes to the wording of the main pages, such as the homepage.

People are able to be "hands on", this is where they work with me to promote the site, they do this by writing short articles (about 300 - 400 words in length) about the subject of their site. I then distribute the article around the net which attracts additional backward links. This "hands on" approach helps to keep the costs down of course.

I am fully aware that the majority of people do not have the time to write the above articles and I am more than happy to take full control of the web promotion project.
